Avert Repo (Stephens and Michaels Associates)
is a family-owned Collection Agency located in Windham,
New Hampshire. They wanted to grow their company while
maintaining the same ownership. We began Assessment
and Strategy for SMA in February 2006, and identified
their most lucrative opportunity was their secured assets
collections portfolio. Their unique collections platform
intercepted the secured asset before being sent to repossession.
SMA was creating value for its securedS asset lender
clients by cutting their repos in half and returning
customers to them.
Client Goal
Once we established the "Avoid Repossession"
direction, SMA’s immediate goal was to target
the largest secured asset lenders in the nation, which
included banks and credit unions. They set a short-term
goal of achieving a $12 million increase in gross revenue
by December 2007, and establishing a system to acquire
13 new clients a month.

In developing the Brand Avert Repo and
Managing Collateral we have created a win win scenario
for SMA. It required 6 months to create systems for
growth, graphics, content and technology. The Avert
and Managing Collateral Brands were launched in February
2007. Avert provides secured asset collections before
repossession and Managing Collateral handles asset management
after repossession.
Currently Avert is aligned with strategic
partners in their industry and have gained significant
exposure in the secured assets finance industry. Avert’s
sales staff has been optimized, and they quickly and
easily establish relationships with their prospects.
Avert is creating new relationships with the largest
lenders in their market. Avert expects to reach its
goals for 2007. They have achieved all their business
growth goals and tools for future growth.
