Pounds Lost: 62 Fat % Lost: 15 Pants size: 38 Loose to 33 Regular
Client “A” came to me to lose 40 lbs and has lost 60. He had had a very stressful 12 months as a medical student, moving twice, eating convenience food and not engaging in exercise. After our consultation, I wrote a very detailed analysis on his presentation including the multiple indicators he had for Metabolic Syndrome, as well as an explanation of how stress and not enough sleep can lead to weight gain, independently of diet. We had our work cut out for us. He does not enjoy working out in a gym, so we had him fix up his bicycle so he could ride to the park where I taught him how to use the environment and portable equipment to exercise. He had strength, but poor endurance at the beginning of the program. I managed his progression from high-rep, low resistance work to the explosive and high endurance work he can do now. I helped him to establish a nutrition program for weight loss that worked with his demanding schedule, advised him on the purchase of some adjustable weight dumbbells and went to his home to teach him a weight-lifting routine he could do on his own. I also helped him analyze and modify his lifestyle to be able to enjoy the good things in life while balancing them with healthy behavior. “A” was an obese man at age 30, at risk for health complications of a much older man. He is now looking great, confident, solidly in healthy zones for weight and body fat, and has a lifestyle fitness program he can do anywhere, any time.
“A’s” Testimonial This review is long overdue. I began working out with Christine last August, and stopped when I moved just a few weeks ago. When I started I was at the heaviest I had ever been and was generally unhappy with how I felt. Christine has the knowledge and expertise to assist someone who is completely out of shape, but is also excellent at adapting workouts as your fitness evolves . She taught me about all aspects of fitness, from basic dietary requirements (and macro-nutrients and supplements), to human biology, to proper form while performing various exercises. She understands how human psychology plays into fitness and can both inspire and motivate. In the end, I lost 5 inches off my waist and over 25% of my total body weight, and I am now the fittest I have been in the past 10 years. I am a completely different person now, both physically and psychologically. Most importantly, I have the knowledge I need now to keep my fitness level up and the weight off. Thank you for everything Christine! |
